Course description
All support staff who haven’t previously attended this DPS one full day training.
Training objectives

To equip learners in the safe administration of medicines.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course it is anticipated you will:


 



  • Have an in-depth understanding and practical experience of how to administer different types of medicines safely and keep accurate records. 

  • Have an understanding of relevant legislation regarding medication and be able to reflect on and evaluate the impact this has on your work policies and own practice. 

  • This session includes training and competency assessments in using adrenaline auto injectors e.g. Epi-pen


Please note:



  • Following the session please complete the online evaluation, when prompted by an email, after which you will be able to download your certificate of attendance. You are then ready to start your workplace competency assessments. 

  • During the session you will complete a workbook which links to the medication competency assessments. If you require additional time to complete the workbook, please discuss with the trainer..


 


 



  • After 2 years you will need to attend the half day refresher training.
