Course description

This half day refresher workshop is aimed at staff who work with adults with care and support needs, and who need to know the basics of safeguarding, legal responsibilities and good practice. It is designed to update knowledge and skills of staff who have already completed the introductory level 1 Safeguarding Awareness course in line with the Care Act 2014 and the Sussex Multi Agency Policy and Procedures.




Training objectives

To update knowledge and skills of Safeguarding Adults in line with current policy and practice.

Learning outcomes

 By the end of this course it is anticipated you will be able to:

· Identify different types of abuse and neglect

· Know how to recognise signs of abuse

· Describe risk factors

· Understand roles and responsibilities when raising a safeguarding concern

· Be aware of the National and Local context of safeguarding.
