Course description

This course is suitable for staff supporting people who have had a stroke or who have epilepsy.

Training objectives

To provide knowledge and understanding on the specified conditions – Stroke and Epilepsy.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course it is anticipated you will be able to:


· Describe what stroke and epilepsy means to the sufferer/ carer and the specific difficulties that can arise from having the condition/s


· Explain some of the coping strategies for carers when caring for someone with these conditions
 

· Recognise the long term complications that can arise, also appreciate how healthy living and lifestyle will impact on the sufferer and the resultant management of the specific condition.
