An interactive session for care home staff, who provide care to residents approaching the end of their life, and how to embed best practice in end-of-life care within their care home.
It is recommended that new staff attend face to face training when available.

To support individuals approaching the end of their life to live well until they die by adopting best practice in end-of-life care.
By the end of this session, it is anticipated you will:
• Be able to identify and involve individuals at end of life and support their end-of-life choices and preferences for their care, recognising individual needs and knowing how to document and review
• Be able to recognise the importance of pain and symptom management at end of life, and the role of the support worker in this
• Recognise when someone is in the dying phase.
This course is specifically aimed at support workers in care homes, and supports the ‘End of Life Care: Embedding Excellence within Care Homes: for Managers and Senior Staff workshop’ attended by their senior managers.
