Preparation and Follow Up

Before attending any ESSCP training course, participants must attend a Basic Signs and Indicators Child Protection course provided/commissioned by their own organisation or have accessed the Safeguarding Children and Young People online e-learning training course.

Participants MUST have also completed both of the eLearning modules:

Module 1 provides learners with a basic understanding of the legal definition and prevalence of child sexual abuse.
Module 2 focuses on what makes children and young people vulnerable to sexual abuse and the signs and indicators of sexually abusive behaviour. These modules are vital preparation for the classroom training and you may be turned away if you have not completed them.

To complete these courses go to the e-learning section on the East Sussex Learning Portal, enter the Children’s Workforce channel and click Safeguarding.
