The aim of this course is to provide substance misuse training to support individuals with substance misuse problems, contribute to their protection and carry out basic substance misuse interventions. Whilst also looking at the holistic response to problematic substance misuse needs, such as mental health, sexual health/exploitation, child protection, and the law. This live, interactive training will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.
Important note: It is essential that you have undertaken the Safeguarding Children and Young People and Alcohol and Drugs foundation (Modules 1 and 2) e-learning prior to coming on this course (see additional information under full details), or you may be turned away.

Preparation and Follow Up
Before attending any ESSCP training course, participants must attend a Basic Signs and Indicators Child Protection course provided/commissioned by their own organisation or have accessed the Safeguarding Children and Young People online e-Learning training course.
Participants MUST have also completed both of the eLearning modules:
To access and complete the e-Learning courses, you must go to the e-learning section on the East Sussex Learning Portal and enter the Children's Workforce channel. The tutor will hold the right to turn away delegates who have not completed the required training.
