An interactive session for managers/senior care home staff who are responsible for leading on best practice and for ensuring that excellence in end-of-life care is embedded within their organisation.
It is recommended that new staff attend face to face training when available.
This is a remotely delivered course and delegates should therefore ignore any map or venue information.

To support people approaching the end of their life to live well until they die through embedding principles of best practice in end-of-life care in their organisation, and enabling their staff to adopt this best practice.
By the end of this session, it is anticipated you will:
• Be able to identify and involve individuals who are at the end of their life in enabling their end-of-life choices and preferences for their care, and knowing how to communicate, assess, document and review these needs to all involved
• Be able to implement processes that will provide effective pain and symptom management as individuals approach end of life
• Have considered the importance of having a policy/framework for your organisation in delivering end-of-life care.
This course is specifically aimed at managers and senior staff in care homes, who are responsible for best practice, staff training, assessment, and support planning. There is a separate workshop for support workers in care homes.
