Course description

This course is for managers who now have to manage and motivate staff who are working from home.

The course is highly interactive and aims to give you the tools and tips to ensure  your staff know what is expected of them, have clear objectives and the trust that they can fulfil their role whilst working from home.

The session will be conducted on Microsoft Teams.

You will be sent a meeting invitation to join the meeting.


Learning outcomes

During and at the end of this course you will learn how to 

  • Understand how to keep appropriate interaction

  • Create structured communication channels, using Skype and Microsoft Office for the team 

  • Structure 1-2-1 time every day

  • Understand the benefits of Emailing vs calling

  • Provide mental health support in times of anxiety

  • Encourage work / life balance

  • Encourage escalation of risks and problems

  • Be happy to delegate to and trust your staff

  • Understand the competence level of your staff

  • Micro-managing or too laissez-faire?

  • The importance of very clear Objectives

  • Setting expectations, timescales and responsibilities 

  • Time Management tips for working from home

  • Provide feedback – related to purpose

  • What you’re doing is helping everyone

  • Be introduced to using the GROW model to briefly coach your staff in overcome challenges
