Preparation and Follow Up
Before attending any ESSCP training course, participants must attend a Basic Signs and Indicators Child Protection course provided/commissioned by their own organisation or have accessed the Safeguarding Children and Young People
online e-learning training course.
Participants MUST have also completed both of the eLearning modules:
Module 1 provides learners with a basic understanding of the legal definition and prevalence of child sexual abuse.
Module 2 focuses on what makes children and young people vulnerable to sexual abuse and the signs and indicators of sexually abusive behaviour. These modules are vital preparation for the classroom training and you may be turned away if you have not completed them.
To complete these courses go to the e-learning section on the East Sussex Learning Portal, enter the Children’s Workforce channel and click Safeguarding.
This course will be delivered by Microsoft Teams. There will be a links on your confirmation email to the full joining instructions and guidance. This will include links to access the training. Please ensure you read these prior to the course start date and keep them in a safe place.
Please ensure you are logged in and ready to go at least 15 minutes before the start of the course so you allow some time for you to resolve any technical issues, as we are unable to provide assistance on the day.
