Course description

This is a three-session course. You will be expected to complete worksheets.

You must attend all three dates to complete the course unless a special request is sent to the trainer.

This course is open to anyone interested in the role of the Personal Assistant (PA) or who is considering becoming a PA in health and social care, and will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.

It is required training for anyone joining the Support with Confidence accreditation scheme as a Personal Assistant.

The course will introduce:

  • The difference between a regulated care assistant and the PA role

  • The importance of a values-based approach to the role

  • Key legislation that PAs should abide by

  • Issues that may arise as a PA such as friend vs professional, conflicts in duty of care and scenarios you may need to face as a lone working PA

  • An introduction to Stop, Look, Care Guidance.

You will be sent a workbook to complete after attending this training.

This workbook will need to be returned to Renee.Jasper-Griffiths@eastsussex.gov.uk for assessment prior to receiving a certificate of completion. Please complete and return your workbook within 7 days.

Important: This training is part of the COVID19 interim training programme and is suitable for new and existing PAs.

It is recommended that PAs attend face to face training when available.

Please look out for an email to complete session evaluation. We would appreciate your time in completing this so we can evaluate this temporary process. You will then be able to access your certificate.
