This course is suitable for managers and leaders with responsibility for staff wellbeing.
The training will be delivered through Microsoft Teams. This Zoom course replaces one of the postponed March 2020 sessions. It is now a full half day course running from 9.30 a.m. to 15.30 p.m. The first Pilot course in August was free but all usual charges now apply.
This course will address gang crime and youth violence. This has been identified as a national priority and this course will enable frontline staff and those working with children and young people to identify individuals at risk of gang involvement and to provide timely support and interventions to support them.
This course will be delivered by Excelsior Safeguarding CIC, a ‘not for profit’ organisation established to provide effective help and support to vulnerable young people and adults.
The sessions are relevant for colleagues who work with children and young people as well as vulnerable adults
It is essential that you have undertaken the Safeguarding Children (or an equivalent Safeguarding/ Child Protection Awareness course within your own organisation, and Child Sexual Exploitation e-learning courses prior to coming on this course, see additional information under full details), or you may be turned away.

These new format events will support staff who work directly with families to be more confident and capable when holding difficult conversations. This will now be delivered as a live interactive virtual classroom via Zoom. Now split over two half day sessions instead of one full day. Important. Participants will be introduced to a new set of practice principles that have been designed by East Sussex practitioners and consider how to integrate holding difficult conversations with families with Solution Focus and Motivational Interviewing techniques.

Aims; To approach competency based interviews with confidence and to be able to write an effective supporting/personal statement.
Each day is made up of two x 1.5 hour sessions at 10:00 and 14:00, followed up by a 30 minute 1-2-1 session, so there is plenty of built in time for coffee/comfort breaks.
Aim - To enhance managers and aspiring managers’ skills around raising the performance of staff who report to them.
