Suitable for all staff, this course provides the essential coaching skills to use with colleagues and customers.

You will develop an understanding of the core skills and have practise sessions.

Completion of this course will qualify you to enrol on the ILM Level 3 Fast Track Coaching course to further develop your skills.

If you are a supervisor or line manager we advise you doing the Coaching for Managers course.

Entering, managing and presenting data in Excel 2016

Consisting of three 1.5 hour sessions - there is ample time built in for comfort and coffee breaks. 

Is this course for you?

You are new to Excel, or want to find out more about basic techniques such as data entry, Formatting, entering simple formulas and printing.

The course assumes that delegates are familiar with:

using a mouse

basic operations such as opening and saving files, and inserting and editing text

joining a Microsoft Teams meeting 

There are exercises included in this training, for which you will need either a second VDU screen, or to print the exercise sheets before the start of the course

LAS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Adults Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LAS whether to view client data or input data into the system

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills.

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.

This course provides delegates with knowledge of safe moving and handling techniques and a basic knowledge of equipment they may need to use to safely move and handle a client. This course does not cover clients with restricted mobility issues, i.e. those who need hoisting or are cared for in bed. During the COVID 19 restrictions, this is covered in an additional 2 hour MS Teams training session called Moving and Handling of People with Restricted Mobility for Care Support Workers/PAs.

Due to the practical nature of moving and handling of people, it is recommended when accessible, candidates complete the face to face training available through East Sussex County Council.

The course covers:

A basic knowledge of key legislation affecting the moving and handling and care of objects and people
Anatomy of the spine and how to reduce the risk of spinal injury by implementing safe handling principles
The importance of good sitting posture
Knowledge of a range of safe moving and handling assisted mobility techniques, i.e. assisted standing techniques
Techniques to assist someone getting in and out of a bed.
This is a remotely delivered course and delegates should therefore ignore any map or venue information.

NOTE: This course temporarily replaces the half day face to face Moving and Handling of People with Restricted Mobility for Care Givers. The 2 hour foundation level course replaces the previous 1 Day Moving and Handling of People (Residential & Domiciliary) and refresher training.

It is recommended the foundation course is completed before attending this restricted mobility course.

This course is for care givers who assist and provide personal care for those clients with limited mobility, i.e. clients who are non weight bearing, hoisted or spend prolonged periods in bed.

The course covers the following.

The course reflects back on health and safety and care legislation relevant to moving and handling of people with complex needs.
Via videos we demonstrate a variety of equipment, including hoists and slings, stand aids and insitu slide sheets.
We discuss various techniques for fitting slings with and without slide sheets.
We cover the effects that immobility has on the body, in relation to posture, tissue viability, circulation etc and the importance of ensuring clients sit in a functional postural position and are repositioned appropriately.
We discuss the needs of clients who have restricted mobility within bed or who may need to spend prolonged periods within the bed, covering equipment and techniques to assist with rolling, repositioning in bed, techniques to fit slings for clients who have limited ability or are unable to be rolled.

Code: ASC/21/375 Safeguarding Adults: Making Safeguarding Enquiries for Lead Enquiry Officers (LEOs Module 3 of 4  Information Sharing and Record Keeping)

This training is for operational staff in ESCC Adult Social Care Services who may be asked to make or contribute to a safeguarding enquiry under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, and will include; the Local Authority's duty under s42 of the Care Act 2014; planning an enquiry; involving the adult – using a Making Safeguarding Personal approach; completing an enquiry.
 
This is for staff, new to ESCC or new to the role of making enquiries. Staff who have previously completed Enquiry Officer / Enquiry Manager training do not need to attend as the course content is very similar.
 
Staff will need to have completed a Safeguarding Adults Basic Awareness training session before taking part in these modules.
 
PLEASE NOTE: LAS (Liquid Logic Adults) Safeguarding Adults Training has been arranged to follow on from this LEO training. If you have not already completed this mandatory training prior to attending this LEO course you can book onto the LAS training in the usual way, via the East Sussex Learning Portal. Log in and select the ‘Adult Social Care’ channel, then click ‘Training and Development’ and in the Search field type ‘LAS Safeguarding’ and the courses will be listed.
