Code: CWA291AB Adopting a Whole Family Approach to Domestic Abuse and Promoting Safety - Professional Level Workshop

This popular course is essential for practitioners from Children's Services and Adult Social Care, education, early help, the police and health, to review, update and consolidate core knowledge about domestic abuse. 

This two day ‘professional level’ workshop is part of the domestic abuse thematic learning pathway and will give an overarching and updated view on current research, theory and practice in the field. It is relevant for all East Sussex children's services practitioners working with children, young people and families assessed as level 3 or 4 on the Continuum of Need.

Important note: You will need to have undertaken all three foundation level domestic abuse e-learning modules prior to attending this course (see additional information under full details) or you may be turned away.

LAS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Adults Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LAS whether to view client data or input data into the system

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills.

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.

Code: ASC/19/667 Refresher Update Day for Moving and Handling and Risk Assessment of People - Train the Trainer

1 day Moving and Handling and Risk Assessment Train the Trainer update course.


The course is recommended approximately 2 years after candidates complete the 4 day Moving and Handling Train the Trainer course.

  • The course aims to update candidates in any changes to legislation affecting the manual handling of people, anatomy of the spine and how to reduce the risk of spinal injury including Biomechanics principles;
  • The importance of individual client centred risk assessments, how to complete them and moving and handling plans;
  • The practical element will review a range of safe manual handling manoeuvers, techniques and equipment including assisted standing equipment, hoists and slide sheets.


Prior to the course, candidates will be given a practical short scenario to prepare and present to their fellow candidates.


For the practical element participants attending should be fit, dressed appropriately and able to fully participate. Footwear should be flat/ low heel and closed in toes. No flipflops or open toe sandals.
