Code: ASC/19/726 Personal Assistants in Health and Social Care

This half-day course is suitable for anyone interested in the role of the Personal Assistant in Health and Social Care.

The role of the PA is very different from other support roles in that PAs are working one-to-one with clients and not via a ‘care’ agency. As an employed PA, the client or their carer will be your manager/supervisor. If you are considering becoming a self-employed PA you will need to understand your responsibilities to your clients.

PAs are not registered with the Care Quality Commission and therefore, training or development will depend on either your employer organising
training and funding for qualifications or you will need to take responsibility for your own professional development.
