Code: ASC/21/989 Stalking - Recognise, Respond and the Law, and Cyber Enabled Stalking (Cancelled)

Stalking is a serious public protection and public health issue that affects the lives of an estimated 5,053,000 individuals every year. This means an ever-increasing pressure at grassroot level to respond effectively and efficiently to reports and disclosures of stalking as well as developing a more comprehensive multiagency model to manage the risk posed by stalkers. In turn, it inevitably means a need to improve knowledge, skills and access in this complex area.

Stalking campaigns are often built on small, seemingly isolated and low-level crimes. Early, well informed multiagency interventions are central to increasing safety and wellbeing in addition to reducing reoffending and re-victimisation. Further challenges come in the way perpetrators are finding ever more innovative ways to target their victims, especially with the rise in cyber offending, and the significant amount of electronic tracking devices available for very little cost, and the increase in social media and web-based activities.

Once your place on this event has been confirmed, you will receive a separate email with a link to the Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting.

Please note this email will be sent from the East Sussex Learning Portal.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR SPAM/JUNK FOLDERS FOR THIS EMAIL.
