Creative Thinking & Continuous Improvement programme has been developed to give managers and staff the tools, techniques and practice the skills in order to be more efficient, think of new ideas, and take the initiative and responsibility for improvement ideas, using Kaizen and creative thinking techniques.

The programme has been split into two half day modules – Creative Thinking – 3 hours, and Continuous Improvement – 2.5 hours, delivered on a virtual platform.

Code: LSC699 ESSCP: Practical Prevent : resources and guidance on implementing Prevent with children and young people you work with (Virtual)

All organisations working in partnership to support PREVENT should encourage their staff to be aware of risks of terrorism and be able to report them appropriately. They should be encouraged to consider the risks from terrorism and violent extremism as part of their regular responsibilities. The "Think: Protect: Connect" toolkit is a resource to support any professional who works directly with children and young people schools, FE colleges and youth settings, safeguard children and young people from online radicalisation and extremism; delivered through a series of six engaging workshops, booklets and presentations.
 
This course is aimed at all front line professionals, including Managers, from East Sussex County Council (ESCC) Children’s Services Social Care, Early Help, Children’s Services Education, Foster Carers, Residential Workers, Schools, Adult Services, Youth Offending Team (YOT). East Sussex Police, Health, Probation and the Voluntary and Independent sectors.
 
This live, interactive training will be delivered via Microsoft Teams. This course is for anyone who writes correspondence and reports as part of their role, and covers general report writing and letter writing skills. (We’ll also look at email.) You’ll learn about the structure and layout of correspondence and reports and develop a systematic approach to writing both. The course also covers how to adapt your tone of voice to different types of writing, as well as common questions about grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Pre-requisites;
The course assumes that delegates are familiar with: basic Windows operations, including using a mouse, opening and saving files and working with Word, Excel and Outlook

Code: ASC/21/620 Supervisors Development Programme - Covid19 Interim Training Programme (EVENT FULL)

The Supervisors Development Programme is open to all Practice Managers who supervise Social Workers and Resource Officers. It is a portfolio based programme of support and assessment against a national set of post qualification standards for social work supervisors.

In the first phase the programme is open to all Practice Managers, and the second phase will extend the programme to all Senior Practitioners /Senior Resource Officers.

It is a flexible programme that recognises your current knowledge and skills and can be completed between 6-12 months depending on experience and previous achievements. Participating in the programme will support you to develop your knowledge, skills, and professional confidence in supervision. Critically reflective practice is a cornerstone of the standards and you will be offered monthly reflective group supervision throughout the course of the programme.

In addition, the programme includes 4 half-day workshops and individual mentor support. The content of the workshops include: leadership and performance management; critical reflection models; learning styles; models of supervision; change management; and equality and diversity. All 4 sessions must be attended to complete the training.

Important: This training is part of the COVID19 interim training programme and is suitable for new and existing staff.

It is recommended that new staff attend face to face training when available. This is a remotely delivered course and delegates should therefore ignore any map or venue information.
