Code: ASC/20/12 Effective Risk Management for Residential & Home Care Managers (Cancelled)

This is a one day workshop for residential and home care managers, risk assessment leads and staff trainers.

The primary focus of the workshop is to support delegates to use a systematic, auditable approach to client related risk management.

The approach used demonstrates how to develop effective, accessible person centred support plans as a key tool in managing risk to individual clients.

The workshop provides an overview of services' effective risk management systems and the legal and regulatory context for all provider risk management activity.

Delegates explore key aspects of risk management systems and the potential impact on clients, staff and the organisation if any facet of the risk management system breaks down.

The workshop covers hazard identification, risk assessment, identification of control measures with associated resources and the implementation of risk control measures that are effective and are contained in the individual's person centred support plan.

Delegates will work through a process that aims to improve the safety, health and wellbeing of clients and the staff who support them.

A range of processes, examples and templates will be used during the workshop which can be taken back to the workplace to assist in service improvements and to cascade training.
