EPILEPSY AWARENESS
On the date of your Epilepsy Awareness training, you will receive an email from tania.hudson@eastsussex.gov.uk with a link to a recorded presentation and assessment.
The training and assessment is expected to take approximately 2 hours.
PROCESS:
Watch the 40 minute ESCC Epilepsy Awareness presentation and 20 minute Epilepsy Society film.
Please then follow the relevant video links in the assessment regarding Buccal Midazolam.
NOTE: THIS TRAINING DOES NOT INCLUDE BUCCAL MIDAZOLAM COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT

This virtual training is for Provider Managers and their senior staff, who may be asked to make (caused to) or contribute to a safeguarding enquiry under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 and is made up of 4 Modules.
All 4 modules need to be completed to have successfully completed this training. The modules are:
Module 1 - What is Safeguarding? on 02.12.2020 at 10am - 12pm
Module 2 - Making Safeguarding Personal on 03.12.2020 at 10am - 12pm
Module 3 - Information Sharing and Record Keeping on 09.12.2020 at 10am - 12pm
Module 4 - Making Enquiries on 10.12.2020 at 10am - 12pm
Staff will need to have completed a Safeguarding Adults Basic Awareness training session before attending this virtual training.
The modules of this virtual training will include duties under s42 of the Care Act 2014; involving the adult – using a Making Safeguarding Personal approach to support the adult to determine their outcomes; planning an enquiry and becoming familiar with ESCC documentation.
Each module will be delivered through Microsoft Teams. Once your place on each module has been confirmed, you will receive a separate Outlook calendar invite with a link to the Microsoft Teams meeting. Please note this invite will be sent close to the day/time of each module. Please read the attached document – Attending online training- before joining the course.

This course provides delegates with knowledge of safe moving and handling techniques and a basic knowledge of equipment they may need to use to safely move and handle a client. This course does not cover clients with restricted mobility issues, i.e. those who need hoisting or are cared for in bed. During the COVID 19 restrictions, This is covered in an additional 2 hour skype training session called Moving and Handling of People with Restricted Mobility for Care Support Workers/PAs.
Due to the practical nature of moving and handling of people, it is recommended when accessible, candidates complete the face to face training available through East Sussex.

NOTE: This course temporarily replaces the half day face to face Moving and Handling of People with Restricted Mobility for Care Givers. The 2 hour foundation level course replaces the previous 1 Day Moving and Handling of People (Residential & Domiciliary) and refresher training.
It is recommended the foundation course is completed before attending this restricted mobility course.
This course is for care givers who assist and provide personal care for those clients with limited mobility, i.e. clients who are non weight bearing, hoisted or spend prolonged periods in bed.
