Code: ASC/21/576 Assisting the Fallen Person – Covid19 Interim Training Programme (EVENT FULL)

MPORTANT: THIS TRAINING IS PART OF THE COVID19 INTERIM TRAINING PROGRAMME AND IS SUITABLE FOR NEW AND EXISTNG STAFF.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT NEW STAFF ATTEND FACE TO FACE TRAINING WHEN AVAILABLE.

You will be sent a link to a resource and also a workbook via email, so it’s vital that you give us your correct email address if it differs from the one on your East Sussex Learning Portal user account.

Workbooks are not to be shared between colleagues; each person who wishes to complete this training MUST book their own place on it. Workbooks returned to the trainer by delegates who have not booked a place will NOT be marked.

After completing the workbook please return it (via an email with answers typed or completed in PDF, saved and returned) for marking to ann.holland@eastsussex.gov.uk by no later than the Friday after you receive the workbook.

Workbooks received after this time will not be marked and your training record will not be updated to show completion of this course.

Ann will mark and return your workbook.
Your East Sussex Learning Portal user account will be updated to show completion of this training once your workbook has been marked.
Please look out for an email to complete session evaluation. We would appreciate your time in completing this so we can evaluate this temporary process. You will then be able to access your certificate online.

This is a remotely delivered course and delegates should therefore ignore any map or venue information.

Code: ASC/21/766 Moving and Handling and Risk Assessment of People - Train the Trainer - Covid19 Interim Training Programme (EVENT FULL)

This is a 4 day Moving and Handling and Risk Assessment Train the Trainer Course. There are 4 sessions held as follows:

* 2 sessions are via MS TEAMS (Days 1 and 3)

and

*  2 are face to face (Days 2 and 4)

Session 1 - Theory, legislation, lifting principles etc 4 hour session via MS TEAMS
Session 2 - Face to face – equipment familiarisation and techniques face to face 7 Hours
Session 3 - Risk assessment theory 3 hours via MS TEAMS
Session 4 - Equipment and techniques, test and presentations, face to face 7 hours

The course is an in-depth 4 day course, spread over 2-5 weeks.

Please note not all days will necessarily be the same day of the week.

This course is specifically for the manual handling training of people,not loads. It is geared to people who supervise, induct and/ or train staff in moving and handling of clients

The course covers:

* Key legislation affecting the manual handling of people, anatomy of the spine and how to reduce the risk of spinal injury including Biomechanics principles.

* The importance of individual client centred risk assessments, how to complete them and moving and handling plans.

* A range of safe manual handling manoeuvres and techniques.

* Ability testing

* Manual handling equipment including assisted standing equipment, hoists and slide sheets.

The course also covers learning styles and principles to become an effective teacher and assess staff competencies in the work place.

The course requires candidates to complete a risk assessment, deliver a teaching presentation and pass a written test

For the practical element participants attending should be fit, dressed appropriately and able to fully participate. Footwear should be flat/ low heel and closed in toes. No flipflops or open toe sandals .

Code: ASC/21/282 Safe Handling of Medication - DPS - Covid19 Interim Training Programme

On the date of your Safe Handling of Medication training, you will receive an email from tania.hudson@eastsussex.gov.uk with a link to a recorded presentation and a workbook. 

The link is on the ESCC YouTube channel and is by invitation only, so please don’t forward to colleagues. 

  • After viewing the 30 minute presentation, please complete the workbook and return for marking to tania.hudson@eastsussex.gov.uk IF POSSIBLE ON THE SAME DAY
  • The workbook has additional information and helpful links which may be useful to refer back to
  • Please don’t hesitate to email Tania with any questions about safe handling of medication
  • Tania will mark and return your workbook

YOU MUST UNDERTAKE COMPETENCY ASSESSMENTS WITHIN THE WORKPLACE BEFORE CARRYING OUT MEDICATION DUTIES.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT NEW STAFF ATTEND FACE TO FACE TRAINING WHEN AVAILABLE.
