Code: LSC717 ESSCP: Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Breast Ironing - identifying and challenging harmful traditional practices

Would you like to increase your knowledge and understanding of this complex area of Safeguarding? Do you feel confident in challenging certain practices whilst trying to remain sensitive and respectful to cultural and religious traditions?

This important multi-agency course is being presented by a very experienced external trainer, who has worked closely with local authorities and police forces to combat these behaviours and can bring personal knowledge to this training event. The sessions are spread over four hour time frame with time for breaks.

This course aims to increase the knowledge, awareness, and understanding of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Breast Ironing and to enable multi-agency practitioners to more confidently identify and safeguard those children at risk.

Important note: It is essential that you have undertaken the Safeguarding Children e-learning prior to coming on this course (see additional information under full details), or a similar Safeguarding Children awareness course within your own organisation.

Code: ASC/21/597 Mental Capacity Act 2005: A Multi-Agency Approach to Complex Cases - Covid19 Interim Training Programme (c) (EVENT FULL)

This 2 hour multi-agency training is for clinicians, health and social care professionals and all practitioners who are required to conduct or contribute to mental capacity assessments and make best interest decisions in complex cases.

The course is designed to supplement existing Mental Capacity Act training. Participants should have a good awareness of the Mental Capacity Act and have completed basic awareness training.

It is a participative course involving multi-agency discussion of case studies and is aimed at learning through problem-solving and discussion.
