'Being Your Best You & Knowing your Worth’ through an understanding & demonstration of emotional intelligence and mindfulness
 
In this 2.5 hour workshop, there will be facilitator led presentations, individual and group work. (There is a built-in coffee/comfort break)

We can often be our worst saboteurs, not recognising that the language and behaviours we use can send out unhelpful messages about our confidence and sense of worth. At times of change and uncertainty, it is important we remain confident and send positive messages about our skills and knowledge and what we can offer to new or existing employers and customers.

Code: ASC/21/1094 Moving and Handling of People for Care Support Workers, Volunteers and PAs - Foundation Level Part 2 (practical face to face session) - Covid19 Interim Training Programme

When requesting a place on this course, you must allow 3 weeks between the dates of Part 1 and Part 2 to allow for the workbook to be completed, returned to the Trainer and marked. When you book Part 2 please provide us with the date Part 1 was completed in the Special Requirements field on your booking form. If Part 1 has not been completed, your place on Part 2 will not be confirmed.

To adhere to Covid19 regulations this face to face course will be small groups with PPE masks, aprons and gloves provided.

The course is 2.5 hours long and will cover practical elements of:

  • Mobility testing
  • Sit to stand techniques
  • Assisting from chair to chair
  • Assisting in and out of bed, including the use of bed levers, bed pulls, non-slip slide sheets, leg lifters, utilising the profiling mattress
  • Walking aids
  • Assisting to walk techniques
  • Handling belts
  • Assisting clients on steps and stairs
  • Sliding boards
  • Turning aids
  • Dressing aids
  • Wheelchairs, including placing a wheelchair into a car.

Please specify on your application if you are new to care work and haven’t completed a practical moving and handling training, so priority can be given to your application.

Code: ASC/21/219 The Care Act: National Eligibility Criteria Adults and Carers - Covid19 Interim Training Programme

This course is designed to explain the national eligibility criteria for both adults with care and support needs and informal carers. This course will give an opportunity to apply the national eligibility criteria to both an adult and carer and understand the difference between adult and carer eligibility.

The course is suitable for: Contact and Assessment Teams; Occupational Therapy Teams; Neighbourhood Support Teams; Mental Health and Learning Disability Teams; Transition Teams, Hospital Teams, Sensory Teams, Reviewing teams, Health and Social Care Connect (HSCC), Occupational Therapy Teams (OT), Neighbourhood Support Teams (NST), Crisis Response Nurses (CR Nurses).

Once your place on this event has been confirmed, you will receive a separate email with a link to the Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting. Please note this email will be sent from the East Sussex Learning Portal. please make sure you check your Spam/Junk folders for this email.

The link to join the training will be sent one week before the day of the event.
