Code: ASC/22/1087 Assisting the Fallen Person (Part 2) Practical use of Assistance Equipment (AM session)

Important: This course is for all levels of Care and Support Workers who may find a person who has fallen. You must have completed Assisting the Fallen Person (Part 1) – Covid19 Interim Training Programme before undertaking the Practical (Part 2) Session which can be carried out on providers own premises.

This course - Assisting the Fallen Person (Part 2) Practical use of Assistance Equipment is for the practical use of a Elk lifting cushion, Felgains lifting chair or a hoist. This course has a large practical element.

The course covers:

* Scenario based use of the Fallen Person Check Sheet
* Body checks
* History taking
* Practical in scenario style for body checking
* Decision making for self-help or equipment use
* Practical use of the Mangar Elk and hoisting from the floor or any lifting equipment located in individual services.

This venue has a current Covid19 risk assessment. Any delegates showing Covid19 symptoms must not attend the training venue.

Code: ASC/22/1224 Basic Epilepsy Awareness Training - for Learning Disability Services (non ESCC) ONLY (Cancelled)

This course will be delivered via In-Person Classroom training. You will be expected to attend a specific venue on the date(s) of the training. Please see the course full details and attached map for further information.
 
To maintain the safety of all participants on this training, delegates are asked to wear a face mask for the duration of the course.

In addition, the trainers request that each delegate completes a lateral flow test before attending. If the result of this test is either positive or inconclusive, please DO NOT ATTEND the course and instead re-book yourself for an alternative date.
 
This training is ONLY suitable for those working in a Learning Disability service. East Sussex County Council staff should not attend this training but should refer to the ESCC DPS ONLY courses.   
 
  •  At the end of the training, a Community Learning Disability Nurse will demonstrate how to administer emergency medication used in epilepsy and you will watch a DVD of safe administration of buccal Midazolam. You will also have the opportunity to practice the administration of rectal diazepam.
    If you require the rectal Diazepam training, please contact the Adult Social Care training team at asct@eastsussex.gov.uk  to confirm this. There is specific equipment needed that will only be brought on courses where delegates have confirmed a need for rectal Diazepam training
  •  Your manager will be responsible for providing ongoing support in the workplace but it will be your responsibility to highlight any concerns you have regarding administration of the medication
  •  A certificate of attendance will be provided; this is not a certificate of competence.

East Sussex Training and Development Centre have completed a Covid-19 risk assessment on the training centre rooms and mitigating actions are in place.

ESCC staff at a high risk of Covid-19 should complete Individual Covid-19 Risk Assessment with their manager and send to corporate.training@eastsussex.gov.uk at least one week before the course date.

Any delegates showing Covid19 symptoms, must not attend the training centre.

Please bring an extra layer of clothing as training centre windows may be opened for ventilation.

This course will be delivered via an Online TEAMS meeting and you will not be expected to attend a specific venue. Please make sure you check your Spam/Junk folders for this email. Please read the attached document, Attending Online Training, before joining the course.

A virtual training session delivered by an experienced practitioner working within a specialist service, using materials co-produced with autistic people. The course level is ‘Aware’: introduction to key concepts and how they relate to practice and what knowledge supports working well for autistic people, and those with intellectual disability, including critical perspectives and introduction to key terms.

This course will be useful for social care staff supporting clients who require enhanced care and support placements or who have prolonged psychiatric hospital admissions or who are considered to be at risk of psychiatric hospital admission.

This 3-day interactive workshop will introduce delegates to the core skills they require to manage change and deliver projects. It is case-study based with attendees working in groups to deliver worked examples of the tools and techniques provided.

Code: ESC/22/522 Sharepoint 2013

Sharepoint 2013 training  is a 2 hour remote hands on session for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Sharepoint and OneDrive platform. This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses Sharepoint libraries to store team information and who has not used Sharepoint before. The course will also cover managing your own OneDrive site used for storing personal documentation.


Training sessions are conducted via Microsoft Teams, please reserve the time in your diary.


You should assure yourself of the suitability of the learning environment from which you will access the online course. In order to focus on the learning content, you will need to access the session from a quiet location where you will not be disturbed. If it is not possible to do this within the office then you should select an alternative location/room that is more suitable, by agreement with your manager.


In order for you to be able to attend you will need to ensure that you are using an ESCC device that has a microphone and video capabilities.
