Who is this workshop for?
This course is suitable for all staff who are involved in, or preparing for, change within the Council
Even though we encounter change constantly it can still be a challenging and disruptive experience. In this workshop we will look at the human side of change i.e. the neuroscience and psychology underpinning how we perceive and react to change in the external environment. By better understanding key brain processes, strengths and limitations we can improve our experience of change and know how to make it more positive and successful – for both ourselves and for others.
This course will discuss your impact on others and developing your personal brand – described as “what people say about you when you leave the room” (Jeff Bezos) and how we can come across in order for people to buy in to you and your ideas.
The course introduces trusted techniques in how to deal with difficult situations and handle conflict in a direct, calm and controlled manner (“Assertiveness”), in order to recognise and appreciate the different communication needs of people.
The course will be highly interactive, please bring your specific examples of having to deal particular situations.
