Code: ASC/22/616 Assisting Clients with Swallowing Difficulties Level 1 Part 2 (9.30am to 10.30am) (c)

This course will be delivered via In-Person Classroom training. You will be expected to attend a specific venue on the date(s) of the training. Please see the course full details and attached map for further information.

This course is for staff who may have to assist a client who has been prescribed a texture modified diet or has difficulty in swallowing with both food and drinks.

Delegates must have already undertaken Level 1, Part 1 (theory) before applying for this course.

The course takes approximately 1 hour for the face to face use of the thickening powders and undertaking the drip test, to show correct texture.

The practical covers:

• A reiteration of the need for correct textures for clients with dysphagia
• Introduction to the thickeners prescribed
• How to mix the thickeners into a drink
• How to test for correct thicknesses
• Complications if the prescription is not followed correctly.

When requesting a place on this course, you must allow time between the dates of Part 1 and Part 2 to allow for the workbook to be completed, returned to the Trainer and marked. When you book Part 2 please provide us with the date Part 1 was completed in the Special Requirements field on your booking form. If Part 1 has not been completed, your place on Part 2 will not be confirmed.

Code: ESC/22/259 Excel 365 Level 2 Performing Calculations

Is this course for you?

You are familiar with basic Excel techniques, including entering and editing data, saving and printing workbooks. You wish to start using and editing formulas to perform calculations in your workbook.

This online course has example worksheets you can practice with after the session.

There is also a 3 hour, classroom-based version of this course, which goes at a slower pace and has more opportunity to practice techniques during the training

Pre-requisites

The course assumes that delegates are familiar with:
• basic Windows operations, including using a mouse and opening and saving files
• entering and editing data, either in Excel 365 or an earlier version
• topics covered in the Excel 365 Foundation course
• familiarity with joining online meetings using Microsoft Teams
To take part in this course, delegates will need an internet-connected device with camera and microphone, and an internet connection which can stream video in reasonable quality.

LAS Search and View is a half day of remote hands on training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Adult Social Care LiquidLogic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate LiquidLogic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned/uploaded images held within ECaseFile


This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LAS whether to view client data or input data into the system


As a new staff member your manager must request that a LiquidLogic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills.


You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.
Training sessions are conducted via Microsoft Teams, please reserve the time in your diary.


You should assure yourself of the suitability of the learning environment from which you will access the online course. In order to focus on the learning content, you will need to access the session from a quiet location where you will not be disturbed. If it is not possible to do this within the office then you should select an alternative location/room that is more suitable, by agreement with your manager.

Code: ASC/22/755 Mental Capacity Act 2005: A Multi-Agency Approach to Complex Cases - Covid19 Interim Training Programme

This course will be delivered via an Online TEAMS meeting, and you will not be expected to attend a specific venue.

This 2.5 hour multi-agency training is for clinicians, health and social care professionals and all practitioners who are required to conduct or contribute to mental capacity assessments and make best interest decisions in complex cases.

The course is designed to supplement existing Mental Capacity Act training. Participants should have a good awareness of the Mental Capacity Act and have completed basic awareness training.

It is a participative course involving multi-agency discussion of case studies and is aimed at learning through problem-solving and discussion.

Sharepoint 2013 training  is a 2 hour remote hands on session for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Sharepoint and OneDrive platform. This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses Sharepoint libraries to store team information and who has not used Sharepoint before. The course will also cover managing your own OneDrive site used for storing personal documentation.
