This course will be delivered via an Online TEAMS meeting, and you will not be expected to attend a specific venue

This 2 hour session provides an introduction to autism and is suitable for anyone who may come into contact with people with autism.

This is a remotely delivered course and delegates should therefore ignore any map or venue information.

Once your place on this event has been confirmed, you will receive a separate email with a link to the Microsoft Teams meeting. Please note this email will be sent from the East Sussex Learning Portal. Please make sure you check your Spam/Junk folders for this email.  The link to join the training will be sent one week before the day of the event.

Code: ASC/22/565 Posture and Seating: An Integral Component of Good Moving and Handling for Clients with Restricted Mobility - Covid19 Interim Training Programme

This course will be delivered via In-Person Classroom training. You will be expected to attend a specific venue on the date(s) of the training. Please see the course full details and attached map for further information. 

This course is aimed at those assessing and caring for adults with restricted mobility who struggle to re-adjust or move their position when seated.

The course covers:

  • Normal posture and how function relates to posture
  • Anatomy of the pelvis and spine
  • The effects that immobility has on the body, in relation to posture, tissue viability, circulation etc
  • An awareness of postural issues and how to correct them or support them
  • The importance of ensuring that clients sit in a functional postural position and are repositioned appropriately
  • Appropriate hoisting techniques into a chair
  • Ensuring the client's seat provides suitable support for them.

For the practical element participants attending should be fit, dressed appropriately and able to fully participate. Footwear should be flat/ low heel and closed in toes. No flipflops or open toe sandals.

This venue has a current Covid19 risk assessment. Any delegates showing Covid19 symptoms must not attend the training venue.
